All of our bags are made of silk brocades and silk dupionis. Silk is nature's most durable fiber. Although it has a bad rep for high-maintenance, silk makes remarkably easy-care fabric. Many fabrics you use that are labeled "dry-clean" are labeled as such to protect them from the wide range of washing machines and washing "strategies" (On a teeny label, howcan they spell out for all litigious Americans to treat your silks differently from your socks?)

To keep your bag looking its best:

1. IRON PERIODICALLY: this will return some of the original stiffness to your bag.

2. TRIM FRAYS: The trim is expected to fray some in daily use. Give your bag a haircut.:

We make our bags for active women. Live life, carry your bag. Get it dirty. Here are the options for keeping your bag clean:

1. Our bags are pre-treated with SCOTCHGUARD™ as a first line of defense.

2. Should your bag become soiled, try SPOT CLEANING with a baby wipe or other moist cloth.

3. Your bag may be DRY CLEANed. This is the best solution for a bag that is dirty from a long- period of use.

4. Should a disaster strike, or you expect repeated disasters, you can MACHINE WASH your bag. For some more detailed fabrics (like the dragon series) you should expect some shrinkage. Although it will look scary when first out of the washing machine, let it AIR DRY, then IRON IRON IRON. Agressive pressing, at a fairly high temperature (the cotton setting on most irons) will help to reduce shrinkage.

BEFORE YOU WASH: Even after pressing your bag, a bag that has been machine-washed may look a little different. Depending on its wear, it could look more "floppy" - although it will still hold its shape. If you are unwilling to take this risk, we recommend you DRY CLEAN.
